Annihilation ConQuest

The following contains spoilers.

With the success of the 1st annihilation series Marvel again continues the tradition of bilking the customer of its hard earned cash. Not to fear though. This story continues where the last left off. In Starlord the first 3 pages tell you everything you need to know to catch up. How Starlord gained favor with Ronan the accuser Who has all the metal implants that were put into him taken out. To begin his Quest (pun intended).

That is too take on the Phalanx. Essentially a race of (think Star Trek ) Borg who wants to assimilate everything and everyone into a collective race. Told you spoilers where included. The story moved along nicely. Enough was built on form this beginning story arc reading the last annihilation isn't necessary. The art is in the style of a French motif. Not a lot of background with a water color ink feel to it as well. If there were any draw backs this was it. A nice feature which I feel must be added is the addition of his partners in crime Rocket raccoon, Mantis, Groot and Captain Universe. On to Quasar this book I looked forward to only because of the relationship between Moondragon and Quasar yes read between the lines. This book has a much better look and feel to it at first glance with the art handled by mike lily. This story doesn't tie into Quasar yet so it can be read independently. It has the phalanx chasing them using the Super adaptoid already a henchman of the phalanx. Quasar looses her cool a typical Marvel move am I going insane?
