Seeing Red

The new Hulk spins out of World War Hulk. We saw the Hulk imprisoned and DE-powered after a knock down drag out brawl with the Sentry. So who is the is? As the reader is led to believe that it is Rick Jones how do you ask. it is unclear at this time. The story starts out with Doc Samson and She-Hulk tracking down what they believe is the Hulk having destroyed a town they reenact what went down. Now this takes place in Russia Ironman is present with Shield in tow. The winter guard becomes involved as they believe the fight that leveled the town and caused the death of the Abomination who was killed by all means a gun that the Hulk fired so hence Shields involvement. I was pleasantly surprised by the story told by Jeph Loeb. It has enough sub plots that weren't bogged down. i know a first issue is usually a set up with not enough going on to have an opinion one way or another. So with the appearance of Shield, Ironman, She-hulk, Doc Samson and the villain The Winter Guard or are they really? Now on to the art Ed Mcguinness cut down the on the fusion of anime and a cartoon style that I remember him for. So needless to say it was well down for him. The style was clean without a lot of background clutter. The Ironman representation had a nice fluid look almost organic. She-Hulk was attractive for a female character without making her look like a bad girl style. The story moved along from panel to panel without having to read it if chose not too. I say give this book a shot. i don't think too many people where prepared to see this new Hulk coming. With all the information available I don't recall hearing that this was a new Hulk.

Someone at work gave me this book to read. Hatred is such a strong word, but may fit.
Not a fan of the writing, although I could live with it. The low point is the art. The style just seems wrong for what the content should be. To be fair I only had a short look at the book and will have to spend more time with it before moving it firmly to the hate list.
